Sweet Sixteen

I went to a wonderful sweet 16 birthday masquerade ball for the daughter of friend of mine. All of the kids had a great time dressing up and so did the grown-ups.

Friday Night Sew In

I wasn't able to get any quilting in as I had 4 grandchildren while their mom and dad went on a date night.   But I did manage to do a little crocheting.    I am setting aside some time this week to work on finishing up a few projects.   I will share those later.

A night with my grandchildren is one of my favorite things.

Let the Redeemed of the Lord Say So

My Pastor spoke today from Psalms 107: He talked about how those God has redeemed should tell everyone, and I realized that I had named my blog, "Prayers, Patchwork & Pop-ups" but I had never declared to anyone that sees this blog, that I am a child of God. I have been forgiven and washed clean by the blood of Jesus Christ. My relationship with Jesus keeps me and sustains me. My road is not always smooth, but I am never on it alone. I have been blessed beyond measure and give my Lord & my Savior all of the glory.

I am redeemed and I will strive to never forget it and give him praise for that daily.

If you need prayer, leave me a comment and I will put you on my prayer list.

An Applique Affair

I went to the 1st Annual "An Applique Affair" today. Several women from my quilt guild have organized the Tallahassee Chapter of "The Applique Society". I have always been in love with applique.
We met at 9:30am this morning and had a wonder day filled with show and tell, demonstrations and sharing.

One of the loveliest quilts I have seen in a long time was shown by Mary Katherine Scott. She is a wonderful quilter and a very sweet lady. I hope one of these days my applique is as good as her's.

Show and tell was wonderful, the ladies who organized the day, all brought examples of their applique quilts and told a little bit about themselves. We also went around the room and shared our quilting path.

Lunch was served and was a wonderful chicken casserole that was so light and tasty and a salad with the most wonderful toppings. I have asked for the recipes.

It was a great day. I can't wait for our first meeting. I will share some of my applique projects later.
